<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air bag device capable of improving occupant restraining performance in an inflation initial stage by securing the thickness of the circumferential edge of an air bag in the inflation initial stage. SOLUTION: This air bag device is provided with the air bag 20 constituted by having an opening 22 for passing inflation gas. The air bag 20 is provided with a temporary connection part 31 drawing the vicinity of an intermediate portion 20a into the air bag 20 by being connected to the vicinity of the circumferential edge of the opening 22 in the air bag 20, in the approximately intermediate portion 20a from the circumferential edge of the opening 22 to the crest portion 28a of an occupant-side wall part 28 facing to the opening 22. The temporary connection part 31 is so constituted as to retain a connecting state with the vicinity of the circumferential edge of the opening 22 in the inflation initial stage of the air bag 20 and to release the connection state with the vicinity of the circumferential edge of the opening 22 in the inflation completion stage of the air bag 20.</p> |
