PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a user to easily select a favorite channel by the user in a market where many channels exist. SOLUTION: The program selection system defines two kinds of channel selection modes; an ordinary channel selection mode and a FAVORITE channel mode. When a FAVORITE channel key 205 is depressed, the FAVORITE channel mode is selected, a FAVORITE channel menu 601 is displayed in the FA VORITE channel mode, the user selects only channels registered as the FAVOR ITE channels and a number of each key of ten-keys 202 is made correspondent to number of the FAVORITE channels. The FAVORITE channel mode is released when no key is entered for a prescribed time and changes into the ordinary channel selection mode. |
