PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a uniaxially oriented film the strength in the orientation direction of which is higher than the strength of the unoriented film of crystalline polystyrene constituting the film, while the strength in the orientation direction and in the direction perpendicular to the orientation direction of the film of a resin composition including crystalline polystyrene and polyphenylene oxide is similar to the strength of the unoriented film or crystalline polystyrene constituting the film. SOLUTION: The film of the resin composition including crystalline polystyrene and polyphenylene oxide, after being uniaxially oriented, is heat-treated to produce the uniaxially oriented film including crystalline polystyrene and polyphenylene oxide in which the crystalline polystyrene is highly oriented in the orientation direction of the film, and the polyphenylene oxide is oriented randomly.
