PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device capable of suppressing lubricant impregnated in a sheet member from leaking from both end parts in a width direction of a fixing belt to reduce a lubrication function of the sheet member over time, and an image forming apparatus.SOLUTION: A fixing device 20 includes a rotatable endless fixing belt 21, heating means 23 for heating the fixing belt, a pressure member 22 that is brought into contact with an outer peripheral surface of the fixing belt, and a sheet member 29 that has a surface of a base material 241 impregnated with lubricant; and is provided with a nip forming member 24 that is arranged on an inner peripheral side of the fixing belt and brought into contact with the pressure member with the fixing belt therebetween to form a nip part, and a guide member 40 that guides the rotation of the fixing belt. The nip forming member is longer in a fixing belt width direction than the pressure member, and has a thickness of a non-nip part at both end sides in the fixing belt width direction thicker than that of the nip part. |
