PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple transferring apparatus which does not use a sensor for complicating the entire apparatus without necessity of accurate alignment of an ink jet record when a protective layer is transferred. SOLUTION: The transferring apparatus for transferring the protective layer coating the ink jet record comprises (1) a supply means for supplying the protective layer to the ink jet record, (2) and a pressing means having a pressing roller and a support roller of the pressing roller to press the ink jet record and the protective layer and further having a pair of gap means.
