<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that the reduction of costs is limited because of the complicated processes in the patterning method by a photolithography for each of the RGB three colors, such as a staining method and a pigment dispersion method, and to provide an accurate stripe pattern formation method which can also cope with the demand for the high definition, and by which an inexpensive high quality color filter can be manufactured. <P>SOLUTION: In a metal cap formed by disposing a front die and a rear die so as to be opposite each other, grooves are formed at a constant interval on one or both of the facing surfaces of the front die and the rear die. The width of the groove is 50-100% of the formation pattern width, and the depth is 10 μm-200 μm. A stripe pattern is formed by disposing the metal cap adjacent to a workpiece to be coated and relatively moving either the metal cap or a stage for holding the workpiece to be coated, while supplying paint to the metal cap. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
