<p>An image display apparatus having an optical scanner is provided. The image display apparatus includes: an illumination optical system to emit a beam; a spectrometer that separates the beam emitted from the illumination optical system by reflecting and diffracting the beam at different diffraction angles according to a wavelength of the beam while seesawing back and forth for a predetermined angle with respect to a rotational axis; a relay lens system that converts beams separated by the spectrometer into parallel beams; an image optical system that produces an image from the beams incident from the relay lens system; and a projection optical system that projects the beams reflected by the image optical system onto a screen. In the apparatus, the beam is reflected and diffracted at different diffraction angles so that each beam corresponds on a one-to-one basis to each scanning line of the panel, thereby allowing a display of full-size, high brightness, and high resolution image using a single panel. <IMAGE></p> |
