PURPOSE: A wireless communication terminal for controlling an IF band and a wireless communication terminal using the controlling method are provided to compensate for an IF of a band pass filter when a system IF is changed by temperature changes, thereby stably obtaining demodulated data by using a single IF and magnifying a data processing capacity of a wireless receiver or a wireless transmitter. CONSTITUTION: The first IF signal generator(410) inputs an RF signal, and converts the RF signal into the first IF signal of an IF band. The second IF signal generator(440) generates the second IF signal having the first phase and the third IF signal having the second phase. A band pass filter(450) inputs the first IF signal in the first operational mode, inputs the second and third IF signals in the second operational mode, and filters the inputted signals. An interception frequency control signal generator generates an interception frequency control signal for shifting an interception frequency of the band pass filter(450). A phase detector(460) supplies a control signal for compensating a central frequency of the band pass filter(450) to the first IF by using a phase difference between the second and third IF signals passing through the band pass filter(450).
