RECTILINEARLY RECIPROCATING ENGINE

PURPOSE: A rectilinearly reciprocating engine is provided to make the engine generate power just by rectilinear reciprocation, to simplify the mechanical structure, to enable miniaturization, to improve the performance, and to reduce the production cost. CONSTITUTION: A rectilinearly reciprocating engine comprises plural cylinders(2) for the engine arranged to a body(1) in two rows; a sliding unit(3) sliding to the right and left of a guide rail(4) in the middle of the right and left cylinders by the operation of pistons(2p) of the cylinders; and a flywheel(5) controlling the stroke distances(L) of the pistons and assisting conversion of the moving direction of the sliding unit. Rods(2c) of the pistons are connected to the sliding unit in common. In the flywheel, an eccentric shaft of a crank(5c) is connected to a vertical sliding hole(3h) of the sliding unit. An explosion stroke and a suction stroke, and a compression stoke and the explosion stoke are alternately executed in the right and left cylinders and the rectilinear reciprocation of the sliding unit is output without a conversion unit of circular arc movement.
