<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To monitor consumption of digital contents by an easy method. <P>SOLUTION: A system 10 includes one or more computers 12, an audio player, a usage metrics server 14, and an optional recommendation system 20, which are interconnected by a network 24 such as the Internet. A consumer or user downloads digital contents from a contents provider 18 by a computer 12. When a client consumes digital contents, a tracking system 34 operating as to the client uploads use data to the use metrics system 14. The use metrics system 14 processes the use data and stores the processed data in a storage part.
