<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrences of out of color registration and a change in hue when forming a color image even though there is a joint in the scale of an intermediate transfer belt. <P>SOLUTION: The scale 5 having the joint 11 is provided along the entire periphery of the intermediate transfer belt 10, and the actual speed of the belt is detected by reading the scale 5 by a sensor 6, and a controller 70 corrects and controls the speed of the intermediate transfer belt 10 at target speed in accordance with the actual speed. The controller 70 performs control by which image forming is not performed in timing while the sensor 6 detects the joint 11 of the scale 5. Thus, the image forming is not performed in the timing even though the belt speed of the intermediate transfer belt 10 is not controlled when the sensor 6 detects the joint 11, so that the occurrences of the out of color registration and the change in the hue in the color image formed are prevented. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
