<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a content downloading system and server for downloading data while adjusting to an optimal state depending on the specifications or the state of a terminal and a communication device used by a user. <P>SOLUTION: Content setting section 11 of a content downloading server 2 sets the attributes of AV data 24 to be downloaded to a terminal based on device attribute data 20, device state data 21 and content attribute data 22 to be transmitted from each device 4.
