<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic pupil correction method and device for automatically and satisfactorily executing the correction of the image of the pupil without any sense of incongruity. <P>SOLUTION: This automatic pupil correction method comprises a pupil detection step for detecting the pupil from photographed image data, a white pixel recognition step for recognizing white pixels distributed in the periphery of the pupil detected in the pupil detection step on the basis of predetermined white recognition conditions 14a, a decision step for deciding that the pupil is the target of correction when a white region constituted of the white pixels recognized in the white pixel recognition step are continuously distributed in the periphery of the pupil at a predetermined angle or greater and a pupil correction step for enlarging the pupil to the white region when it is decided that the pupil is the target of correction in the decision step. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
