PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent unsuitable content from being displayed or sold in a content distribution system.

SOLUTION: A service information provider predetermines whether selection control is made to certain content information according to age, or the like or not at a rating specification section 12. When a user requests output of content, a content accumulation/search section 32 retrieves the content in which meta data are given from preregistered contents information specified by the user. In the case of "no selection control", the contents information is outputted as it is. In the case of "selection control", user information including a user ID, date of birth, or the like is read from a DB 37 to obtain information on age, or the like indicating that the user is younger than 18 years old or the like. Thus, for example when the user is less than 18 years of old, selection control for preventing the content information from being outputted is made, and the result is outputted to the user.
