A showerhead includes a base connected with a water supply assembly. The bas e has a front wall with a plurality of water outlets; a plurality of waterways for directing water from the water supply assembly to the water outlets; and a plurality of cavities between the waterways that are not pressurized with water when the showerhead is operated. The showerhead may optionally include a front cover releasably supported on the base, and havin g a plurality of openings through which water from the water outlets of the base flows. If so , the front cover may be decorative and not pressurized with water when the showerhead is operated. A non-adjustable showerhead includes a structural unit having waterways that limit the surface area of the structural unit that is exposed to water pressure thereby limiting the force on the structural unit. The front wall of the structural unit may be exposed and serve not onl y a structural function but also as the esthetic part of the showerhead.
