<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image imaging device, an image reproducing device, and an image pickup and reproduction system that can store images generated by imaging an object with different exposure times in one piece of animation data and reproduce the animation data in a plurality of reproduction modes. <P>SOLUTION: A readout signal is synchronized with a vertical synchronizing signal and the pulse timing of a bypass signal is varied according to whether a pulse of the vertical synchronizing signal is odd-numbered to control an exposure time. Pulses 61, 63, ..., of the bypass signal corresponding to odd-numbered pulses 51, 53, ..., of the vertical synchronizing signal are generated a time ΔT before the pulses 51, 53, ... Pulses 62, 64, ..., of the bypass signal corresponding to even-numbered pulses 52, 54, ..., of the vertical synchronizing signal, are generated a time ΔT2 before the pulses 52, 54, ...
