The nut (8), e.g. for fixing a seat to a motor vehicle structure (2) such as the floor, consists of a threaded metal core (14) with an outer collar (26) and an overmoulded plastic flange that covers both sides of the collar. The core is made with cylindrical sections of different diameters (D1, D2) on either side of the collar, the greater diameter being at the nut's proximal end (18).
