In a double-layer glass spacer forming method of the invention, while moving an applicator head for applying a spacer molding material by a multi-joint robot along the peripheral edge of the upper surface of one glass plate, a spacer molding material is applied from the applicator head to form a spacer. At that time, the spacer molding material is delivered from the delivery port of the applicator head in the linear region of the peripheral edge, and the delivery of the spacer molding material from the delivery port of the applicator head is stopped in the corner region of the peripheral edge. During stoppage of delivery, the applicator head is rotated to change the direction of the delivery port to a direction suitable for coating the next linear region which follows the corner region.
