<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust gas cleaning catalyst capable of preventing the sintering of ceria, thereby keeping an excellent catalytic performance and to provide its manufacturing method. <P>SOLUTION: This exhaust gas cleaning catalyst is manufactured by depositing ceria, platinum and a NOx storage material on a porous metal oxide so as to have a comparatively large surface area after an endurance test is done. Otherwise, this exhaust gas cleaning catalyst is manufactured by depositing ceria and a noble metal on the porous metal oxide so that ceria has ≤12 nm average primary particle size. This method for manufacturing the exhaust gas cleaning catalyst comprises a step of agglomerating a ceria precursor from cerium salt by using urea or a step of agglomerating the ceria precursor from a cerium-hydrolyzable compound. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
