<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus in which an increase of frictional force produced by contact of a charging device with a photoreceptor can be suppressed and wear of the photoreceptor can be diminished. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus has at least the photoreceptor and the charging device for charging a surface of the photoreceptor by bringing a charging member into contact with the surface, wherein a surface layer of the photoreceptor contains fluorine base resin particles and a contact part of the charging member brought into contact with the photoreceptor surface is fixed.
