The beams (164, 166, 168, 170, 172) are distributed around the first ring (160) to provide a substantially uniform circumferential axial stiffness around the rotor support (128), and the heig ht of each beam is greater than the width of each beam. Damping can be provided by the placement of a damper (130) between the rotor support (128) and the support housing (134). |
