1328647 Multi-spindle lathes EUNIPP AG 3 Dec 1970 [3 Dec 1969] 57555/70 Heading B3T A multi-spindle lathe comprises an indexable spindle drum 11 with a plurality of work spindles 12 which are successively indexed to work stations I to VI, each work station being provided with two spring retracted transverse tool slides 17, 18 for successive actuation on a workpiece at the work station. The slides 17, 18 are actuated from a cam 30, which is driven from a ring gear 31 mounted on the spindle drum, and by way of links 23, 24, 26 which pivot a double armed lever 19 or a pair of levers 20, 21 on a common pivot 22. The length of stroke of the slides is adjustable and the slides are retained in contact with the guides and retracted by springs 37, 38 or 39, stops 40 being provided to determine the extent of infeed of the slides. The drum and spindles are driven from a motor 36 by way of belt and gearing 32, 35. A workpiece steady assembly 16 is provided on a centre shaft 15 coaxial with the axis of rotation of the drum. |
