Log shredder - through centreless grinding with alternate compression - and relaxing movements to concentrate shredding action

The shredding action to reduce a log to wood pulp uses a serrated shredding roller in conjunction with two control rollers and a free-spinning roller together with sprays. The control rollers and the free-spinning roller exert an alternate compression and relaxing action on the log as it is turned and held against the shredding roller while the surface is reduced to individual fibres and the diameter of the log becomes smaller. The sprays carry off the fibres in the form of pulp.
