1334271 Diazabicycloundecapentane derivative E GY T GYOGYSZERVEGYESZETI GYAR 10 May 1971 [6 Nov 1970] 14045/71 Heading C2C The novel compound I and acid addition salts thereof are prepared (1) by reaction of compounds II with hydrazine or hydrazine hydrate to give compounds III and reacting compounds III with an acid, (2) by reaction of a 1-veratryl-3-methyl-4-ethyl- 6,7 - dimethoxy - isobenzopyrilium salt with hydrazine or hydrazine hydrate, followed by treatment with an acid or (3) by reaction of 3 - (2 - veratroyl - 4,5 - dimethoxyphenyl)- pentan-2-one with hydrazine or hydrazine hydrate in a mixture of one or more 1-4C alcohols and benzene to give an adduct IV which is then decomposed with an acid. Pharmaceutical compositions comprise a compound I together with a suitable excipient and are useful as tranquillizers.
