Carrier for electrophotographic developer for use in impeller development and consisting of an Fe powder with Fe3O4 on its surface, prolonged life and allows excellent copies to be produced. The ratio of the (X-ray) diffraction peak of Fe3O4 (ASTM 11-0614) and that of FeO (ASTM 6-0615), with the fundamental diffraction levels, i.e. (220) and (111) respectively, eliminated, is >10:1 (>10:3).
