<p>Compounds of formula: (in which R1 and R2 are the same or different and denote 1-22C alkyls, or form together with N a heterocyclic ring; and X is a halogen), are produced by cyclising a gamma-halogenoacetoacetic acid amide having the formula: X-CH2-CO-CH2-CO-NR1R2 at 20-150 degrees C. (pref. 60-100 degrees C.), opt. in an inert solvent. These cpds. are bactericidal.</p>
