1371075 Making sliding clasp fasteners SOC FINANCIERE FRANCAISE DE LICENCES ET BREVETS SA 29 Nov 1971 [8 Dec 1970] 55301/71 Heading E2S A sliding clasp fastener having rows of continuous spiral shaped fastener elements 2 through which a cord 4a, 4b extends, is manufactured by placing the cord in an intermediate position through the elements by assembling the rows of elements so that the elements of one row penetrate between the elements of the other row whereby to push back the cord in that row and thereafter fixing each row on to a supporting tape by means of a line of stitching 12, the stitches being inserted at the free spaces 10 between the cord inside the row and the connecting portions being successive elements. As shown, the elements 2 are interengaged by means of a slider-like part 5 which causes interlocking heads 3a, 3b of the elements to abut and push back the cords 4a, 4b to positions in which they are then retained by pressure applied to the whorls of the spirals by a pressing roller 8 prior to application of the stitching 12. |
