Skin turning for flesh stripping machines - by moving suspension tackle along adjoining parallel paths

The flesh from skins is normally stripped in two operations, each treating one half of the skin only. To turn the skin mechanically after the first half has been stripped, the skin is suspended from a twin chain conveyor on suspension tackle. The turning operation is done by advancing the suspension tackle on one chain far enough to turn it through nearly 180 degrees. The following stripping machine then receives the skin with the untreated half leading. This saves the extremely heavy labour required for turning the wet skins of large animals. It is also suitable for machines which do not operate on the flow line principle.
