Watertight car door finishing fillet - fabricated by heat-treating PVC and covering material, then applying rubber strip

A watertight finishing fillet for car doors consists of a covering material of desired finish, a PVC backing strip and a rubber strip which when compressed seals the joint. The covering material is precoated so that on application of heat a permanent bond with the PVC STRIP is formed. The application process consists of winding the covering material onto a reel (a) and the OVCfillet onto a separate reel (b). The fillet is passed through a guide (c) and stretched over rollers (d and e). The material passes through a guide (f) and is held on top of the fillet by a roller whilst heat is applied. The composite strip then passes on for application of the rubber sealing strip.
