Tyre cord mfr. by removal of weft from fabric - leaving warp filaments as parallel cords for rubber coating

A fabric consisting only of wary filaments coated with rubber, esp. tyrecord, is made by removal of the weft filaments from an initial woven fabric supplied continuously to the rubber coating stage. The starting fabric is continuously advanced and non-adjacent, warp filament(s) are continuously removed and bent up at an angle so that the weft filaments can be cut away and removed from the warp. Pref. the warp is opened out into two sheets each constituted of the alternate warp filaments, the weft filaments being removed. These two may then be recombined to form one sheet.
