<p>1359347 1-Nitroanthraquinone SANDOZ Ltd 30 Nov 1971 [22 Dec 1970 10 June 1971 27 July 1971] 55572/71 Heading C2C 1-Nitroanthraquinone is prepared by reaction of anthraquinone with nitric acid of at least 90% concentration at a temperature in the range -40‹-+35‹ C., the molar ratio of acid to anthraquinone being at least 20 : 1. The reaction may be carried out continuously or batchwise and the product may be precipitated by dilution of the reaction solution with ice/ water. The mother liquor after separation of the crystalline product may be returned to the reaction.</p> |
