1433753 Heat transfer apparatus DEFENCE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR 6 July 1973 [14 July 1972] 33072/72 Heading F4U A temperature controllable aluminium collector plate 10, for use in the production of an alloy by the deposition of its components from the vapour phase, is provided with heat sink members 13 provided with internal passages for coolant, such as water. As shown, a water distribution housing 20 is mounted on a shaft 14 supporting the plate 10 and pipes 21, 22, 26 are provided to circulate the water through the heat sink members 13, each run of pipe being provided with a flexible vacuum seal 23. Each heat sink member 13 comprises copper blocks 15, 17, a replaceable copper tube 16 and a stainless steel water compartment 18 bolted to the plate 10 by a mild steel bolt 19. The collector plate 10 is provided with a thermocouple 24 and heaters 25. |
