A confectionery-shaping machine includes two parallel contrarotating rolls and an endless belt which is wrapped around most of the periphery of the smooth roll and part of the periphery of a moulding roll. The latter has recessed on its surface to suit the required shapes and is cooled internally down to -10 degrees C by a deep freeze medium. Sweets such as nougat, fudge, toffee or fondant are thus detached from the moulding rod recesses without difficulty, and is more effective than PTFE coating.
