The inflatable air cushion is in the form of a rectangular foam body with an annular opening for the inflatable air ring, with the valve for the ring being mounted in the foam. The foam body is also provided with a detachable cover which is fitted by means of a slide fastener wherein the front and back of the cover have an opening corresponding to the free interior of the air cushion and are connected together by a rubber or material strip. Typically the air cushion is approximately 10 cms. thick.
