<p>1436002 Electrical connector ITT INDUSTRIES Inc 26 July 1973 [4 Aug 1972] 35657/73 Heading H2E To mount on a base a strip connector 1, of any length, adapted to fit the edge of a printed circuit board, a foot 4 is attached to each end, with conical or cylindrical stud 12 engaging the one of the series of blind holes 9 nearest the end and cut into by the end face of the strip, and projection 13 with lips 14 engaging the end contact cavity 2 which is left empty of contacts. Stud 12 is carried on lug 11 of the same thickness as ribs 7. Lips 14 on projection 13 are slotted as at 8 to accept the end of the printed circuit board and are shaped to match the empty contact cavity. All parts are made of thermosetting plastics except for the contacts, the terminals of which emerge through holes 2<SP>1</SP>. The feet may be screwed to a base through holes 19. Stability may be enhanced after fitting of the feet by adhesive between projection 13 and the end of the connector, or by ultrasonic welding.</p> |
