The shear is partic. used for cutting a motor vehicle roof, and so enable to rescue driver and passenger in case of accident. The pack unit comprises a carrier frame (4) with upwards curved transverse carrier handles (6). Additional transverse support tubes carry an hydraulic piston pump (9) which fits in a sleeve tube (10) and is connected to compressed air bottle (11) by means of various regulators, gauges, etc. A pivoting foot controlled lever (13) is mounted on top of the piston pump. Quick acting nipple couplings (3) facilitate rapid connection of the shear (1) to piston pump (9) delivery side.
