<p>The machine has a cylindrical casing and a shaft (1) carrying an eccentric rotor (11) which touches the cylinder at one point dividing it into two varying volume spaces (13, 14). The shaft also carries a radial vane (16) separating the working spaces with a seal to the cylinder. There is a gap (17) at the back of the vane through which one of the spaces (14) is permanently in communication with the hollow interior (18) of the rotor. At the front the vane is sealed to the rotor by a strip mounted on a shaft (20) parallel to the main shaft. The strip fits tightly into a concave recess (22) on the rotor and has a cylindrical projection at its other end fitting into a recess in the face of the vane.</p> |
