A thin sound-absorbent panel for walls/partitions etc. has a rigid frame and a perforated reverse side of hard-board or metal which is applied to the frame, the other face side of the frame has a thick fabric layer with specific airflow resistance between 300-1800 MKS-rays, the inter. space is filled with glass fibres or sheet, the whole panel is between 2.5-5 cm thick and has a sound absorption coefficient (ASTM C 423-66) of >=0.60 at at least three frequency bands between 250 Hz-4 kHz inclusive. The assembly is relatively thin but effective for sounds of low frequencies upwards.
