Central control computer - directs matrix of individual processors with information transfer over buffer and instruction and feedback buses

A general purpose central control computer co-ordinates the operation of a large number of individual processors arranged in a matrix. The matrix structure is arranged with two basic types of processor arranged alternately. Two way data communication occurs between adjacent processors. A control unit has two main instruction buses one coupled to the 'S' processors and one to the 'W' processors. Interlock lines provide feedback from the processors to control unit. The top row of processors in the matrix connect with a buffer store that provides a data link over the control unit to the central control processor. All processors operate synchronously from a central clock generator.
