<p>An inset made of plastics having low elastic deformability, e.g. polyethylene, may be used as sieve or strainer inset for bottles and similar containers. It covers the mouth of a bottle with a plate-shaped part whose edge lies upon the rim of the bottle neck, and if held in the mouth of the bottle by frictional fit between outer protrusions, which are elastically deformed by radial compression, and the wall of a thin-walled, hollow, cylindrical shoulder of the plate-shaped part whose edge lies upon the rim of the bottle neck, and is held in the mouth of the bottle by frictional fit between outer protrusions, which are elastically deformed by radial compression, and the wall of a thin-walled, hollow cylindrical shoulder of the plate-shapred part. This shoulder extends into the mouth of the bottle. The wall of the hollow cylindrical shoulder is provided with the protrusions over its circumference and, on its inside, with thickenings opposite the protrusions and connected with the plate-shaped part. For restaining certain materials inside a bottle when pouring a liq. contents. The claimed construction ensures safe fit between strainer and bottle neck whilse allowing it to be used within relatively large tolerances of bottle neck diameters.</p> |
