发明名称 A METHOD OF AND APPARATUS FOR COLLECTING AND UTILISING DUST LADEN GASES
摘要
1460735 Utilizing dust-laden gases from coke ovens SIMON-CARVES Ltd 22 March 1974 [5 April 1973] 16240/73 Heading C5E Dust-laden gases emitted from a coking oven are collected using means, duct 14, which enable the oven chamber 10 to be connected selectively and exclusively to one of at least one pair of separate gas collecting mains 12, 13 via an ascension pipe 11, 11a, the means being operated sequentially to transfer dust-laden gases emitted from the chamber to the first of a pair of mains during and for a selected period following the charging of the chamber with coal to be carbonized, and relatively dust-free gases to the second of the pair of mains for the remainder of a carbonizing period, the dustladen gases being transferred from the first main to, and burned as fuel in, the combustion chamber 24 of a heat exchanger for drying and pre-heating coal to be subsequently carbonized. The gases are initially fed via line 22 to a first combustion chamber 24 of the heat exchanger. The gases are burned with an excess of air suplied via line 37, the combustion products including residual air being passed to a second combustion chamber 31 where substantially dust-free gas supplied via line 33 is mixed therewith for combustion to remove the residual air, and the final combustion products are passed into coal preheating chamber 38 of the heat exchanger. The gases are cooled during transfer to the collecting main, e.g. by providing liquor sprays in duct 14, and the condensate is passed via line 27 from the mains to means, e.g. settling tank 28, for separating relatively clean liquor which may be supplied via line 16 to the sprays. In the absence of sufficient dust-laden gas, dustfree gas is supplied via line 34 and valve 35 to be mixed with dust-laden gas in the first combustion chamber. A fan 23 may be included in line 22 and is associated with by-pass valve 25 connected via line 26 with main 13 so that the valve operates in response to changes in pressure of the gases in main 13 thus controlling the pressure in the main. A pair of mains 12, 13 are connected to duct 14 by associated liquorseal valves 12a, 13a, one of which opens as the other closes, so that dust-laden gas passes into mains 13 during charging and selected period, and thereafter into mains 12. Mains 12 is connected via line 17 to a by-product plant and via line 18 to settling tank 19 for the drainage of condensate and separation of relatively clear liquor which is drawn off via pump 20 to feed line 16 via line 21.
