1438869 Pressure gauges; expressing measurement P D DIETERICH 4 June 1973 [6 June 1972] 26625/73 Headings G1J and G1L [ Also in Division H2] A pressure gauge comprises a diaphragm 40 coupled to a linearly movable array of permanent magnets 21, 22, 23 arranged to cause angular movement of a permanent magnet 14 mounted on a shaft 34 which carries a pointer 66 movable over a scale 78'. The characteristics of the movement may be set by the choice of the shapes of the various magnets and by the number of magnets chosen. The magnets 21, 22, 23 are mounted on a resilient arm 48 fixed to a stationary support 104 and engaged by an adjustable fulcrum 62 to set the range of the gauge. The shaft 34 is associated with an oscillation damping system 157, 162, Fig. 8 (not shown). The gauge also includes a zero-set screw 174 arranged to alter the gap 36 between magnets 21, 22, 23 and magnet 14. The two sides of the diaphragm 40 are inter-connected by a valvecontrolled passage (176, Fig. 8) to permit pressure equalization for setting the zero.
|
