The boiler has a water jacket (3) formed by inner and outer cylinders (1, 2) with a combustion chamber (4) inside the inner cylinder. The combustion chamber has a circular front plate (5) with an opening (6) for a burner and a gas outlet flue (8) is formed at the back of the chamber. At the rear of the combustion chamber there is a flame reversal box (9) in which the hot flames are deflected to flow forward and then back again through the annular space (10) between the outside of the pot and the inner cylindrical wall (2). Perpendicular strips of steel (11) are welded to the inner cylindrical wall (2) in this passage (10) to form ribs projecting radially inwards.
