An air pipe (26) constructed of plastic and lined with sound absorbent material runs at high level through the salon. It is supplied with air at low pressure by a fan (18) outside the salon, for example in a cellar. The pipe has outlet connections (28) some of which are closed off and some of which are connected to flexible pipes (30) hanging downwards. An electric heater (34) is incorporated in each of these flexible pipes near its lower end. The weight of each appliance is taken by a strainer cord (36) outside the flexible pipe.
