Sectional heading machine for mines carries its own exhaust ventilation consisting of ducts either side and below the boom, designed as sheet or spiral ducting runs extending back into the electrically operated exhauster. Two suction ducts (5) form the fork arms of the exhauster (6) placed between the crawler tracks (3) supporting the machine and below the boom. The ducts pass over into a common channel (7) which connects to the exhauster in the roadway via an elbow (8) and short ducting (9). In the front part of the machine, the ducts (5) have openings (11) on the sides of the crawler pointing towards the roof of the roadway, but limited in the face direction by the loading apron (10).
