Voltage transformer for gas insulated three:phase switchgear - is contained in special housing with standard circular flanges and enables transformer to fit in general system

To contain the three voltage transformers (1) within the general circular profile of the bus duct (6) local protrusions are provided (7) in which the cores and windings of each transformer are in part accommodated. Being local the duct section can be terminated with standard flanges thus making coupling to, and sealing with, the rest of the gas filled system a normal operation. The size of the protrusions is also chosen to allow offset positioning of the transformers during assembly so that all three can be entered through the standard circular opening. With this design a three-phase voltage transformer is accommodated within the general system and the need for specially adapted single phase units eliminated.
