<p>An appts. for investigating liq. samples, esp. samples of water, uses liq. indicators, e.g., those which cause a modification in the colour or other visible property of the water sample. A transparent sample vessel is permanently connected to >=1 indicator containers, each capable of storing sufficient indicator for a large number of investigations. The interconnecting duct between the indicator container and the sampling vessel contains an externally operated metering valve. Used for laboratory tests on liqs., esp. water, the arrangement enables all the equipment to be kept in one unit, thus avoiding possible loss of small vessels contg. the indicators, and reducing the number of handling operations involved in the use of test tubes and similar vessels. Appts. is compact and considerably reduces the sampling time.</p> |
