Mfr. of laminated metal profiles bonded together by a connecting plastics foam layer ("bridge"-sic) comprises placing the profiles to be bonded together into a mould (opt. after they have been coated with an adhesion adjuvant), pressing them down with the aid of holding-down devices acting from above; and laterally clamping them. The liq. foaming compsn. is then introduced, from above, in a longitudinal direction; and the mould closed on top before the foam expands and solidifies. The profiles may be used in mfr. of metal-foam-metal laminate profiles used for mfr. of window and door frames and wall cladding (facade) frameworks. Foam material is evenly and fully spread along the entire profile, even when the laminate to be mfd. is relatively long. There is no need to drill holes into the metal for injection of the foam.
|
