Radial blower housing which supports the rotor and drive motor, has a spiral curved wall made from sound absorbing material positioned at the circumference of the rotor and at least partially limiting the guide chamber. The blower includes two plates (11) a rotor width away from each other made from e.g. concrete providing a bearing for the rotor and/or the motor at least one of which has a recess (13) for the rotor. A filling of sound absorbing material takes up the space between the plates such as blown clay balls bound with a foam material such as polyurethane and a space left free by the filling with a spiral shaped surround surface enclosing both the guide chamber and the rotor (14).
