PURPOSE:To obtain a laser light used for a laser knife, etc. stably from a low output to a high output by a method wherein a detected light of low energy is obtained by inserting a photo energy controller in the case of large monitor photo output, and, when the monitor photo output is small, it is determined as the detected light in an unchanged state. CONSTITUTION:A laser oscillating part consists of a carbonic acid laser discharge tube 1, a high voltage generating tube 2, and a discharge current controller 3, and the laser light P0 emitted is split into a working light P1 and a monitor light P2 by a partial transmitting mirror 4. Then the light P1 is made to serve to cut open the organic tissue or join vessels. On the other hand, the light P2 is detected by a photosensor 5; when the energy of the light P2 is relatively large, the energy of the detected light P3 reaching the photo-sensor 5 is reduced by inserting the photo energy controller 6 at the incidence port of the photosensor 5. Further, the state that the controller 6 exists at positions of normal insertion and removal is detected by means of position detectors 7a and 7b for the controller 6. |
